A small watercolour painting depicting my countryside, the Tuscany. This is inteded to be as a souvenir of a beautiful land. For those little painting I'm applying a special very low price!
This is a hill that is part of the Tuscan landscape: the cypress trees placed on top outline the territory as many soldiers deployed on the battlefield. Once the cypresses were planted to divide the property and to protect the roads from strong winds. Now these are silent witnesses are monuments to the landscape and are really beautiful to see.
I prepared this canvas with a layer of flour dissolved with water and glue in order to make inhomogeneous surface to be painted. Then I squirted rapidly with charcoal the main profiles of the trees and I fixed everything with a first layer of color obtained with the carmine red and chrome yellow.

I created this painting at an exhibition dedicated to Elsa river that runs through the valley where I live, in Tuscany. Rather than representing the river I preferred to concentrate on the sensations that the river itself gave me: the forest, the silence, the roar of the water along the shore, the mystery.
